Peter Henry Barlerin is the United States Ambassador to La Republique Du Cameroun. He met with Cameroun external relations Minister on Friday 20th, 2018 in Yaounde to talk on the so called Anglophone Crisis which is now a conflict between two nations. Mr. Ambassador said he expressed USA readiness and willingness to help find a lasting solution to the crisis that has been rocking Anglophone Cameroon cum Ambazonia.
”I offered our assistance to help resolve the problems in the English-speaking areas, but I also stressed that the United States would like Cameroon to remain stable” These were words from the Ambassador after meeting with External Relations minister, Lejeune Mbella-Mbella.
Southern Cameroons Restoration Forces have been battling Cameroun colonial forces in both zones of Ambazonia. The US diplomat said USA will be ready and could offer help provided that both sides would approve of its wish to intervene as a peace mediator.
However, given that conditions for talks are not yet in place, Barlerin said such an intervention as an honest broker is not yet in sight. “It’s just that we have a lot of experience in this field. If the need arises, we can help,” the American diplomat reiterated.
It should be recalled that few weeks ago, the diplomats met home based Southern Cameroons leaders who happened to be Federalists. He is yet to publicly offer to meet Southern Cameroons Restoration leaders who are the ones calling the short in Ambazonia. The Ambassador if the USA is sincere should be calling openly for all arrested to be released, demilitarised the zones then sit on the table to negotiate with leadership of Southern Cameroons across the board.
Many European countries, UN and others have called for dialogue but yet none is able to follow up and push la Republique to dialogue

Mr. Ambassador,
You are blowing hot air. Your country has a drone base in Cameroon. It trains the Cameroon military both in your backyard and in Cameroon. Your country supplies arms to Cameroon.
The USA government is not interesting in this matter as it is the responsibility of your ally France. You can only intervene if France needs your help as they did in Libya. You can’t have it both ways Sir.
Useless Ambazonians use your brain before getting too exciting about this proposal. You should learn how the world operates. I told you before that Cameroon belong to France and that they are key in any negociation or dialogue. Unfortunately your hate won’t let you reason wisely.
You forgot the biological weapons lab.
The Jojos are always here to comment. Great work guys. Month end is coming and you will get your salaries. This Jojo sounds to me like a Bami.
The enslavement of anglophones is a well coordinated effort put in place by Britain and France. This two countries know exactly what they are doing it is all about our resources. The only way we come out is to attack their interest, which is this same resources. When you hear Boris Johnson speaking don’t get cut up here is speaking for both France and Britain.Decentralization is the language they have agreed should be pushed aggressively to us hopping we accept it.They don’t see us as humans they see us as gold pot.”SOURCE OF INCOME “So we must be resolute, determine with resolve.
There is only a solution with our leaders in prison. Release them immediately. Start talks with a neutral observer or mediator. More important in a neutral country. Start negotiations. To appease the Southern Cameroons there must be a referendum. Nothing else will be accepted by the people. The questions of that referendum shall be.
1. Do you want complete independence of the Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia? OR
2. Do you want to go into a TWO-STATE-FEDERATION with la Republique du Cameroun?
I remain skeptical of any decision to hold a referendum for fear of paid East Cameroonians infiltrating and rigging the results. Etoudi is so desperate to hold on to it’s supposed ‘slave colony’ for it’s rich and abundant resources that they’ll do anything under the sun. A better option is to rectify that 1961 phrase, “independence by joining” and invoke legally the 64 votes in our favor. There is no such thing, then or now, in this wide world where a country is granted independence by joining. Absolute rubbish!
Mbeuh I very well understand your concerns. Let me explain you why my proposal is a good way forward. What you write is all correct. And what happened with us in 1960/1961 can be described as a farce. If you conduct a referendum than you do it under surveillance of an independent body. It is very unlikely that the regime can rig an referendum under such circumstances. I would like to remind you that even Biya proposed a referendum after the AACII. He never conducted it because he knew already the outcome. In my previous comment I wrote “to appease the Southern Cameroons”. A referendum creates clarity it is one of the most basic and fundamental tools in a democracy. Now each side is claiming the majority is for this or for that. Even me I don’t know how many percent are for Independence or Federation. The only thing I know is that I don’t know personally anybody who is still for federation. But do I know all Southern Cameroonian people? Thus let us ask our people. Moreover the referendum would appease federalists since we shall ask both questions. And that is the point. The option “Status Quo” is out of choice. For sure you need a kind of pre-voting phase. Each side should promote its vision freely without intimidation. We should not forget our East Camerounian neighbours. They need clarity too. In my opinion a referendum would be preferred by international bodies.
All the so called Ambazonias should start searching for lice on the UK’a head. Not on the bald heads of many Francos, who knew nothing about the deals that were sealed b/w LRC and SC, and/or FR and UK.
Were you all men enough, you’ll be collecting all that money raised to purchase enough wax and wax some gray hair on the queen’s butt—that is where our trouble lies—Buckingham palace.
But as usual, you can’t be men enough to face our history—save when it suits your narrative.
You know, I know, and many know, that UK did all he could to block secession in the mouth of Foncha, and Foncha was fine only to change his mind when all was sealed.
LEARN to face history, and by doing so, we’ll all be lies-free…
Otherwise, all the killings wouldn’t give you independence.
He’s a bami and he and others of his ilk want Ambazonia to continue as LRC’s foot stool and also as a foil against their incorrigible country and regime. He and his fellow bamis and countrymen must know that what Ambazonians want is zero-sum; it is Ambazonia or nothing, period !!! He has the audacity to write rubbish in an Ambazonia forum; could he have done that if it were a francophone forum monitored by their sadistic government that forbids freedom of expression and assembly?
Give him the freedom to express himself. In contrast to LRC we want to build up a democracy. That means we have to accept even that nonsense. But it will not change the way we’re going towards independence.
@Enow Takor, Your past is not my past. I do not have common ancestry with bloodthirsty cretins like you.
I hope the equatorial gaulist teach you the lessons of your life. No self-respecting nation will come to your rescue.
I am an Anglophone, from NW to be precise. Go shove your imaginary nation up your you know what.
