Afraid of a South Sudan in Post Restoration Ambazonia? Pocket Your Fears

Ever since the transformation of the present Southern Cameroons revolution from the quest for a two-state Federation to the total Restoration of the independence of Ambazonia, there have always been frictions amongst revolutionary leaders on the who, what and how of the leadership. Some front line leaders have continuously questioned the process of the emergence of the present Interim Government (IG) that appears to enjoy a larger support of the people; while others have questioned the arrival of new comers to assume revolutionary leadership.

Even though these leadership frictions have not gone down well with Ambalanders, with some and onlookers already predicting a possible South Sudan scenario in a post restoration Ambazonia; we at BaretaNews now think that these leadership frictions are good and necessary for the revolution and a post restoration Ambazonia, provided none of these leaders are agents of La Republique du Cameroon (LRC), who are just out to cause division amongst a determined people. We shall explain.

It is a natural principle that nothing good ever comes to a person, individuals or people on a platter of gold. Whoever thought that the revolutionary process shall be very smooth, especially in terms of leadership recruitment, then such a person was mistaken. There is none of such smooth revolutions in revolutionary history, especially with respect to leadership recruitment. Ambazonians must therefore expect tough challenges on the road to Buea, especially leadership challenges which appear to be the most fertile source of hindrances to revolutionary success.

Revolutionary victory shall be very sweet and appreciated, not because Ambazonians fought the enemy under one, united and bonded leadership, but because even in the mist of leadership frictions, all the front line leaders understood that they had one enemy, and fought towards a single destination – the restoration of the Statehood of Ambazonia. That is why Ambazonians can tear themselves debating on which leader is right or wrong, a fighter or not, but when the enemy attacks, they all speak the same language – defend the homeland and the people.

Through these actions, Ambazonians are not only fighting the enemy in a democratic and free terrain where every one’s opinion is allowed to prevail, but are also setting the foundation for a strong and democratic post revolutionary Ambazonia, where the spirit of debate and political opposition shall flourish in order to put every Ambazonian leader in check.

During the period when the revolution was moving from the SCACUF leadership to the Governing Council, Comrade Boh Herbert is noted to have made a statement that he shall not allow Sissiku Ayuk-Tabe and co to run another Cameroon National Union (CNU) or a one party State in a Post restoration Ambazonia. Many Ambazonians expressed disappointment with Comrades Boh Herbert then, and even accused him of political positioning for post independence politics, when the people are still in bondage. However, looking at post independence Africa, will tell that Comrade Boh Herbert, Comrade Cho Ayaba and all those opposed to absolute unity in the leadership of this revolution are simply trying to learn from the mistakes of history, where revolutionary leaders fought in a united front, and after victory, built one party dictatorships that couldn’t even tolerate internal opposition. This is one of the causes of what happened in South Sudan.

Ambazonians are very scholarly people and they know what they want for their nation. The intellectual standing, exposure and the class of the individuals who have led and are leading this revolution right from the Consortium, through the SCACUF Governing Council to the IG, and even in the leadership of ARCC and all front line movements, should inform the World that Ambazonians are an enlightened people and scholars who cannot act like uneducated heros, by winning a revolutionary battle and then allow their hard earned country, to go down the road of destruction after suffering in the hands of the colonial vampires for 56 years.

Consequently, the people and observers must not look at the refusals of Comrades Cho Ayaba, Ebenezer Akwanga and Boh Herbert to join the IG, as acts of leadership mongering, agents of La Republique and/ or hindrances to the smooth running of the revolutionary train. Considering the revolutionary antecedents of Akwanga and Ayaba for instance, it will be unfair and an act of revolutionary dishonesty for any Ambazonian to say that these men don’t want Ambazonia to be free. Ambazonians should rather see these acts of theirs, as using the revolution to achieve two goals – fighting for the total liberation of Ambazonia and laying the ground work for a post restoration truly democratic Ambazonia, with a viable and feared opposition that should constantly remind any post independence government that, you cannot ride on the good will of the people during the revolution to install another African dictatorship that builds another group of the Paul Biyas and Fru Ndis in Ambazonia.

The political desk of BaretaNews therefore challenges every Ambazonian or onlookers afraid of a possible South Sudan scenario in post independence Ambazonia, to rather look at Ambazonia from a post restoration Israel scenario. The Ambazonian people and their leaders are enlightened enough to understand the meaning of genuine dialogue and building Strong institutions and not strong men. Ambazonians shall genuinely negotiate the leadership structure of a post restoration Ambazonia and sealed it with a PEOPLE’S CONSTITUTION that would guarantee and tolerate alternative voices in national governance. The freedom of Ambazonia is a for gone fact and no impediment on the way to Buea can weaken the determination of the people or stop the outcome of the revolution, which is victory for Ambazonia.

  1. If anyone from SC is scared free SC becoming South Sudan then one has to question his or her true origin. Most the people of SC are well educated, but you can’t the say the same thing to the people of South Sudan.

    1. @Pete
This has nothing to do with education, SC could even be worst than South Sudan. Look at what is going on, you think that the 47 IG that was betrayed to LRC don’t have families? Yes they do and they are still grieving. Look at the poor peoples houses are getting destroy by LRC and tell me at the end of the day who they will blame and how you will make up for all the losses. The Anglophones you call agent of LRC then kidnap and kill also have families and you will face them later on.
Not to mention that South Sudan did not get independence through the means of arms alone, the international community gave them their independence. They made a compelling case which gained alot of sympathy around the world and we are nowhere close to that.
In SW and NW now people are so afraid to speak their mind because you view anyone who think differently from you as agent of LRC and this is very bad for a revolution.

  2. @Papito, please open your eyes @Grace may have a point here. What is going on now in diaspora is exactly that. NW is strongly for America syle federalism and SW is for total seperarion the poors peoples are the one suffering. The poor farmers and small business owners live are being destroy because of economic boycott and as long as Sonara, CDC ….are going well Biya don’t care. Big towns’ life to include Bua and Bamenda are normal. Biya only care about election, wait and see when the election is over. They should be shift in strategy before it’s too late.
