Ayah Goes Ballistic, Dish Off Political Correctness
Ayah Goes Ballistic, Dish Off Political Correctness

We recalled that on Tuesday, 6th September 2016, the Ambazonia Governing Council under the leadership of Dr Ayaba Cho Lucas blacklisted six prominent Anglophone politicians ( John Fru Ndi, Ayah Paul, Prince Ekosso, Joshua Osih, Kah Walla and Christopher Formunyoh) for practising Pan-Cameroun politics. Chief Justice Ayah Paul Abine in a Facebook post on Wednesday 7th September responded heavily to their communique.

In a bid to calm tempers, one of the detained and now released on bail Southern Cameroons Activist, Mr. Njousi Abang safe-faced Ayah Paul, the Ambazonia governing council and others. In a public post to BaretaNews he wrote:
“Hon Lord Justice Ayah Paul Abine was on Equinox Television denouncing the arrest and imprisonment of the activists for an independent Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia). We watched him on the screen in our prison cell. During the previous court session prior to the riots before our being granted bail, he was present in court and later visited us in prison and I had a tete-a-tete discussion with him in which I appealed for a much focused attention on the course of the free people of Ambazonia. Do not ask me whether he gave me food? because your guess is as good as mine. Furthermore, he offered to bail all of us out of jail but the prison authorities were not ready yet. He later walked away for a meeting with the lawyers because Barrister Agbor Nkongho requested his presence. I do not know what filtered out of the meeting but he scored 8/10.

The Ambazonian lawyers scored 10/10 in the attention given to the detainees. The Ambazonia Governing Council led by Ayaba Cho Lucas and his deputy the Rt Hon Applaud scored 10/10 for all round support. SCNC North America scored 10/10 for sending in relieve supplies. Human rights activists in-country did not sleep while we remained held in this light, Fon Achobang, Nasako Bisingi,Solomon Amabo and others whose names cannot be named here scored 10/10.
The Church and traditional rulers did not remain indifferent, they visited, wrote and donated food. We score them 8/10. The Ambazonians and especially activists of class like Mola Njoh Litumbe and Nfor Ngala Nfor scored 10/10 for mobilisation and above all the journalist became alive and beamed the facts by day and by night in this light they scored 10/10. Our friends and families scored 11/10 because they kept the prison gates wide open for 45 days running. They brought beautiful memories of happenings everyday without the gates and above all nourished the bodies. Thank you for raising this concern. Stand up and be counted for the train is on the move…” Njousi concluded

Meanwhile one of the blacklisted Anglophone Politicians, Prince Ekosso gave a more emotional and logical reactions to his critics. He wrote:

” My fellow compatriots, I respect each and everyone’s opinion on this debate, but I think that whenever we are called to leadership responsibilities, you assume one of the highest responsibilities which needs a lot of caution and tactics to handle decisions. Ayaba Cho Lucas, Roland Tewure Fominyam, and myself had talked both on phone and on social media on the issues of SCNC, and their requests was for me to join the group. My answers to them has not changed. I know what I am into to bring the long awaited change in Cameroon. I have a strategy on how to go about it. But what is a little strange in this Ambazonia talk is the manner which Ayaba Cho Lucas and Roland Tewure Fominyam go about harassing those who have the slightest difference with what they want. I have received insults and even threats from Ayaba Cho Lucas, and consistent verbal attacks from Roland Tewure Fominyam. To me, these attitudes where not leadership attitudes and it distant my communication with both men.

Secondly, I find it extremely not serious to fight a battle or assume the role of general in the army when you are not in the battle ground. The only way I can take both Ayaba Cho Lucas and Roland Tewure Fominyam seriously, is when they will come to Buea or in Bamenda to finally settle on this course which they have been fighting, and which I respect and sympathize with greatly.

My opinion on the Southern Cameroon issue is in good books which are in the keeping of Mark Bareta, Ngi Tantoh Didi, and others. If there is any advice I can give to our brothers, Ayaba Cho Lucas and Roland Tewure Fominyam is this, tagging people as “anti Southern Cameroon”, does not help the course. Instead, it frustrates, expose, and weakens your strategies and strength. Let me guarantee all of us here and now, the whole of Cameroon shall be liberated, and I know how to go about it. Thank you all, God bless you, and may God bless our efforts towards a better life for us and for our children….” Ekosso lamented.

Recalled that Ambazonia (Southern Cameroons) is that part of the British Mandate territory of Cameroons in West Africa. Since 1961 it has been illegally part of the Republic of Cameroon, where it makes up the Northwest Region and Southwest Region. Pressure groups since 1994 have been clamouring for independence and the Republic of Ambazonia was declared by the Southern Cameroons Peoples Organization (SCAPO) on 31 August 2006. Since then till now, many Southern Cameroons activists have been arrested and molested, others are still in detention while some are in for self-exile.

God is still saying something.
