Cameroun’s Senior Military Officials Killed in Air Crash

BaretaNews is reporting the death of senior army officials in a helicopter crash in the Far North Region, Cameroun. According to the Cameroon Intelligence Report, the incident which occurred on Sunday 22nd led to the untimely death of Brigadier General Jacob Kodji, Commander of the 4th inter-armed military region and Colonel Kameni, Commander of the 4th gendarmerie region.




Cameroon Intelligence Report further narrates that General Jacob Kodji graduated from the Yaounde military academy in 1983, was later promoted by Paul Biya the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces on August the 13th, 2015.

Based on these reports, BaretaNews realized that the late General Jacob Kodji was already a commander of the 4th military region in Maroua before he was appointed a Brigadier General. The report adds that he is a native of Mogodé in Mayo-Tsanaga, a border town with the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His death is coming at a time tension is gripping West Cameroon as all activities are grounded as a result of the people’s strike.
