Sacked Consortium President

With the Consortium still remained banned in the Cameroons, Consortium President is finding other ways to help Anglophones. Considering the stakes at home, Barrister Balla is using other authority to help the struggle. As President of Fako Lawyers Association, he has created a taskforce to help hundreds of our compatriots abducted and are being taken to Court clandestinely. Barrister Balla in his communique emphasised that the legal task force is pro bono (Free) and it is only for this purpose considering the fact that lawyers are still on strike. He went on to advised other counties to do same so that our people will be helped out. BaretaNews can state vehemently that, indeed in this struggle everyone must find his or her own niche, it is now clear that Barrister Balla has found his niche to commit himself to see all detainees free and get justice for all. We of BaretaNews can only appreciate this move. We are thus called upon to play our own role each in his or own niche until restoration.

FORMATION OF A TASKFORCE TO DEFEND PERSONS ARRESTED DURING THIS CRISIS.

Dear FAKLANS,

It has come to our attention that many young men and women within Fako Division have been arrested and are currently detained at the various police and Gendarme cells within our neighbourhood because of the ongoing Anglophone crisis.

Cognizance of the fact that Lawyers are currently on strike, FAKLA Exco hereby creates a special taskforce exclusively for the defence of ONLY those arrested in relation to the Anglophone crisis.

We feel that the said group of detainees (and all others arrested as a result of the ongoing crisis) need urgent legal representation because of the circumstances of their arrest. We have been reliably informed that some have been charged to Court.

Our drive during these trying moments is to act fast to minimize injustice.
In light of the above therefore, we have resolved that Senior Barrister Ajong Stanislaus shall lead (Coordinate) the team of lawyers listed below who constitute the Taskforce :
Barrister Aso Epey Ebi
Barrister Awungjia
Barrister Arrey Collins.
Barrister Legenju Vitalise
Pupil Barrister Mele Didier
Pupil Barrister Luma Fred

Barrister Ajong is further empowered by this communique to appoint members for the other towns within Fako namely :
Limbe, Tiko and Muyuka.

N.B. : The services of the taskforce are probono.

FAKLA shall suggest this initiative to the other constituent associations to form a similar probono team for a same purpose.

What brings us together is stronger than what divides us.

Thank you. – Agbor Nkongho

  1. Unless Balla is dreaming or has been compromised, he should already know that LRC is a lawless country and his (Balla) own release was not as a result of lawyers helping him or good lawyers or laws. Simply, Balla was released because of international and domestic pressure on the one hand and Muna’s treacherous family connections and link to Biya, on the other.

In any case, I have a trust problem with the Balla of now and am glad it is Susiku leading us and not Balla.

  2. Our independence come 1st October frees them all. He can try what ever he wants, but he should not forget that he him self is not yet a free person. He can walk freely but he is not free because of the guns Yaounde has on his head.

  3. In my opinion it is a good thing. Everybody can engage himself in something useful. Our boys in LRC dungeons need support. We all know that this country is lawless. But to fight for the detainees exposes that evil. #RestorationNow #FreeAllArrested

  4. I have never doubted the humanity of Barrister Agbor Balla. On a cautionary note, we must understand that incarceration is more than a horrible experience on the human psychic. Few people will go to prison and come out without some damage. Unfortunately, in Africa we do not have counseling services hence we should do more to pray and support our brothers and sisters who have been victimized and are continuously being victimized by this french stooge called Biya and his Beti thuggish gangs. We should reserve our anger to the likes of: Nadine Njoya, Ernest Obamana, Tchiroma Bakery, Atanga Nji etc. etc.

    1. “Few people will go to prison and come out without some damage”. He has shown me whom he is and I believe him. I can write for ever about his cunningness since living prison but I agree with you that “We should reserve our anger to the likes of: Nadine Njoya, Ernest Obamana, Tchiroma Bakery, Atanga Nji etc. etc.”

  5. Of course Biya and his gang are using Bala already. They will suddenly release prisoners then let it be said that Bala and his group are for the people to set the people against the Governing Council. They want the people to be divided and then they brandish to the world that look these people do not know what they want. They are just a bunch of extremist, terrorists and trouble makers.

Good they can go ahead and defend our brothers and sisters. That is good for their freedom. But our brothers and sisters in prison also know that there is greater freedom and that is what all Southern Cameroonians are fighting for now. The leadership they have put in place is the Governing Council. This Governing Council is what is scaring the hell out of La Republique du Cameroun

  6. Balla has been compromised we have moved on long time and even big time. We have a history of very cheap and weak leaders and Biya recruit his puppets from jail. Balla is now bringing other lawyers and this will eventually end up where? Amba people stay focus on the big elephant which is our restoration. Any traitor will be harvest what they sow.

    1. After they witnessed to their greatest surprise the Sept 22 march on SC, they shook him up to make a speech and he published the garbage he did. At the same time, Dr Fontem published a video apparently echoing Dr. Balla. This was not by chance, well coordinated. They want to take us for chump but as it is said in the noble Mungaka Language, I translate “they want pick stone wey bird di see them” and kiss bye bye

  7. My brothers and sisters time will show us for what he stands for. 56 years of maltreatment and dishonest have make us distrusting so much. We were deceived so often. Me I believe in his humanity. Let him do his work. Lawyers can join him. But we the people shall concentrate on Sunday.
