A lot has happened between the last conclave SCACUF organized and now. While authorities at The Governing Council have mentioned without specifications preparations for an upcoming conclave, some people think Southern Cameroons has gone past the era of conclaves going by the true definition of the word. We have declared the restoration of our independence. We should now be talking of another form of get-together like a constitutional convention or conference. Whatever the semantics are, Ambazonians are highly anticipating various aspects of that upcoming get-together. Many believe that, among other things, many decisions that will lead to giant strides in the taking over of our territory will be made.

The bittersweet declaration of the restoration of the independence of Southern Cameroons on October 1st is still very fresh in our minds. To some, October first was just the beginning of the final stage of the struggle because those people understand what it takes to actually begin running a country. To others, there is the feeling of despair and disappointment because prior to October 1st expectations had gone too high, probably due to how the day had been publicized to the ordinary masses. The presence of the occupier now on the territory is stronger than ever before, contrary to what many had expected before October 1st. The lesson learnt is that citizens shouldn’t expect too much from the upcoming conclave. On the other hand, SCACUF shouldn’t publicize the conclave in a way that misleads citizens into expecting too much.

How I wish SCACUF could put out a simple poll or survey right now asking Ambazonians to throw in ideas of what they would like to see discussed in the conclave. Such a poll or survey would give SCACUF a genuine idea of what a majority of Ambazonians want for now and facilitate the process of prioritizing. Without such opinion polling, the conclave coming up might discuss some very important things as seen from the perspective of SCACUF / The Governing Council but which might not necessarily be what most citizens want.

I belong to many social media groups in which this issue of the upcoming conclave is trending right now. Those discussions prompted me to come up with this short write up. Here are some popular opinions in anticipation: The conclave should publish a draft constitution of The Federal Republic of Ambazonia. There should be a tentative government or at least an enlarged Governing Council now that we have restored our independence. There should be pronouncements regarding the resumption of schools, the nature of ghost towns, etc. Strategies besides diplomacy to evict La Republique du Cameroun from Ambazonia should be concretely discussed. Every group of Ambazonians has ideas similar to these in their discussions.

As far as diplomacy is concerned, in as much as SCACUF has made a lot of progress and reached certain corridors of power in the West, many Ambazonians believe that the game of diplomacy is a very treacherous one and it is not wise to totally bank on one camp. Take for example; The United Nations we keep looking up to for solutions to our crisis is actually the root cause of the crisis. There is an opinion that our diplomatic moves so far are one-sided, targeting mostly western countries; the US, UK, Canada, etc. We haven’t heard much about other world powers in the likes of Russia and China. It goes without saying that wherever these two show interest, the US and her own allies show double interest. While intervention from western countries and organizations is good and slow to come our diplomats might consider flirting a little more with other world powers. It’s good leverage. Could the upcoming conclave look into new territories for diplomatic offensives?

Many other Ambazonians think the upcoming conclave should be an occasion to iron out squabbles within SCACUF and restore complete solidarity in strategic actions.

Disagreements if there be any within SCACUF, are healthy for the well being of the struggle in my opinion. Too much solidarity in action sometimes can be blindfolding. It is okay to have heated debates and altercations because we want the best for our people. If we don’t, we are on our way to a La Republique du Cameroun style government whereby everyone is a yes person. Their parliament is one that achieves everything through acclamation by praise singers in the name of participants. Let SCACUF have a conclave full of debates, diverse points of view, accusations and counter accusations which all lead to the greater good for our people. The fear of being called out is the beginning of good governance.

We Ambazonians do not expect heaven and earth from the upcoming get together neither do we expect trivialities. We expect to see the way forward after the conclave be it as rough as it might be. We expect to see a timeline of concrete action. Last but not least, the people of Ambazonia expect to be given the chance to chip in their ideas for a new nation building

  1. All I say is this, we must all be prepare for everything and from where ever it’s coming and as things come, so must we engage them, resolve them and move on.

  2. SCACUF I hope has some experts who know something about conflict resolution. Here is a simple fact anyone can use to resolve conflicts without resorting to shouting, backstabbing and jealousy. Where are we going to? (I hope Independence) If someone has a different answer, bring it up. How are we going to get there? When we get there, what do we do? Foley Hoag Law firm must have given the governing council these questions, then sit in a conference with all groups, take every, plan and suggestion and vote on it. Group plans according to importance and sensitivity. Some plans will be kept secret, in hands of a select few. Finances must be key, missions accomplished, like travel, help to wounded citizens, general social tasks, like food, funeral expenses, feeding and healing and training should be published to encourage everyone to come on board, that is also good for other organisations that want to help us. Sensitive info kept secret. I have ordered 20 flags to distribute to friends from South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, some Canadians. The governing council should have an authorised site for t-shirts, banners and flags, the money going to the general fund. Let me give you my business experience, 2million in the diaspora and if everyone sold $19 worth of flags, banners, scarfs, hats, ties, wrappers you see where I am going to? 2,000,000 X $10 = $20,000,000. Smart Ambazonians, come out of your holes and let’s continue this train rolling. Anything Ambazonian will be hot cakes, collector’s items because of new nation My church members want to buy t-shirts. Set up something on the website to buy our goods. If you read this take this idea and run with it, pass it around. Thanks

  3. From what i see, read and hear our pple have lost trust in SCACUF.The Inability of SCACUF to come out with a draft constitution immediately after the declaration of independence, the failure of SCACUF to inform the pple about the resolutions of their last conclave, the visit of the U.N secretary in Central african Republic has not Being exploited so as to send Delegation to Force him to see the genocide fr himself.SCACUF is jst as confuse as lrc Bcuz i dnt seem to undrstnd their diplomatic offensive as they’re gox from one blunder to another. The Enemy of my Enemy is my frnd, there we shld ally with the number one enemy of the western world.

    1. I cannot agree with your statement. My feedback is the opposite. Me and many of my friends and family believe in SCACUF. They do very well.

  4. To some extent I agree with Ghost. SCACUF has not lost credibility but I have to admit they have lost a lot of popularity since October 1st and it is slowly getting late for them to get back the popularity they had prior to October 1st. If no big move is made between now and Christmas, by next year SCACUF might just be old talk. One of those big moves is to form a tentative government as Mark Bareta mentioned in one of his recent live shows.

  5. True Ambazonians trust Scacuf 100%!!all must be paying their Levy by now, via http://www.scacuf.org and helping fund this struggle, the irony is those who are still sitting on the fence, pretending to fit in as francophones pay nothing, complain the most because the culture in lrc Cameroon is,idleness, beggars, freeloaders, bribes takers,no future aspiration, life is no different, this struggle needs money not loud mouths empty vessels/pockets SCs who are so quick to criticise or condemn Scacuf,do they know how hard it is to challenge a 56 years old colonial dictatorship regime run by France, the minority wealthy greedy people, who are benefiting financially and suppressing those who want change in the 21st century,Scacuf is the only true born organisation uniting SCs at home and abroad with the same aspirations, agendas and goals of total restoration,Independence, reclaiming our land from the oppressed, ghost towns, school boycotts are effective,1 October 2017 Independence day celebration was a success, not in the history of many patriotic SCs have they had pride, excitement of belonging, personally Scacuf must keep all their important next step confidential as lrc is confused, biya is daily isolated in the international communities because of his barbaric use of daily killings, tortures, imprisonment of peaceful demonstrators and innocent civilians, the lack of Human rights freedom in a country who continue to be impose censorship,by cutting the internet and phone services for the second time, trying fo fool the world, yet images of army & police brutalities, death bodies are still circulating around the world.

    1. Thank you Ndolloz. I fully agree with you. Many of us just lack patience. SCACUF is doing so much. We can be grateful to have this bunch of people.

  6. You guys stay out of the country and send innocent people to their graves. To us back home, we see no actual proof of a progress in the struggle apart from a day to day increase in the number of death young SCnians. And believe me when i say this, about half of the population who pledged their loyalty to the struggle are fade up with your claims of restoration. We will rather be in catalonia where you see real progress than be hear and listen to your fake news. Everyday we hear, the secretary general of UN has said this, has said that (and at the end of the post, you say WE ARE “winning”). Sincerely can someone tell us what we have won since November, to me its absolutely nothing. You claim a flag was hoisted in Bamenda, Buea etc, (Yea it was hoisted. I bear witness to that.) But for how long???? 20mins??? or 1hr at most???
If you guys beleive ambazonia is not a facebook republic as a certain blogger called it why not raise and army that will stand by the flag to ensure it remains up for more than a month if that is the best you guys can do. Catalonia held a referandum, even though pple were hurt, it proved a point and today i will say they have a firm grip on the balls of the Spanish gov’t to an extend. But here, we only read online, a f**ken lawyer has written a letter to the UN warnx against genocide, a dis did dat. At the end what did those letters do? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If the governing council or whatever think people are respectx the ghost town, it is bc of fear not pledge any longer. If you think pple are not gox to sku in bda and buea, it is bc there are going to sku in yde, dla etc. not bc of pledge. I want to have a SC ID card, and be a citizen, bt if this is hw we will get there, by listenx to pple who only send facebook messages so that pple can be arrested and killed, i better remain a cameroonian. If Sisiku claims he is the chairman, then, come to buea or bda and live there. Only then will i bliv there is a struggle. EveryONe back home want the struggle to succeed. but after a year of no significant progress we ar F**KEN fade up!!!!!!!. It is better to raise an army, figth for restoration and loss 100 lives rather than loss 12 lives on a daily basis with nothing to show for the deaths. F**K the struggle and F**k the governing council. Come to bda or buea and rule, and we will follow you like sheep goats. ( only then will you understand how much we need restoration). For now, restoration or no restoration, we are Cameroonians. Though we are not happy.

  7. Root i have even made several request to SCACUF through this platform to give me two hundreds volunteers and the necessary arms and logistics and i wld hit lrc simultaneously on 20fronts that they wld never forget the attacks in 10centuries to come like FRANCE is rememberx Nazi Germany.I would give BIYA’s regime a blow it would never recover and force even the military to doubt his ability to continue to rule.We have the Advantage to attacks lrc now that he has a war on two fronts( bokoharam and seleka in C.A.R,when ambazonia wld also Attack then BIYA wld have no choice but to abdicate the throne.Ndolloz u think that i dnt fund scacuf or im one hungry ambazonian who spends his time complainx .thatz the problem with u guys u dnt like objective criticism to improve on what has been done so far. What have u Achieve with all the other contributions wc u pple have wasted on unfruitful endevous and Writing Petitions.I want to tell u something! The U.N does not impress me,I know all about the U.N?I have a major in western hypocrisy.Pa dee this pple cnt comprehend the reality on the ground, reasons why pple like Ndolloz find it difficult to face the truth. Is this how SCACUF wld strt governx us by just framing stories of success and dnt want us to question them. Are we Fighting Against Dictatorship jst to fall in the hands of pple worst than our present oppressors,GOD forbide! ! ! Pa Dee why are u asking ROOT to calm down at least i have pple who are facing realities not Ndolloz(Alice In Wonderland).

  8. Ghost! I said he should calm down because sometimes to better hit your opponent you need a little time to plan. I think and I hope that is what SCACUF is doing now and by the time the 4th conclave ends we will know.

    1. So you think scacuf is planing something??? NOW??? i don’t think so. what have they been planning for a year now? all they do is fight for power. there is no difference bettween the governing council an biya. bc they all clamour for power, wen they have it, they prove that they can’t lead. all what have been done so far concernx the struggle is by the pple home. What have the leaders do? order than write fake news, write petitions like Ghost mentioned??. I was saw a post on this crazy site titled “The ambazonia education council have been created?” Please where is it located? bc i have walked up and down in bda looking for a branch but i cant find any. Was it created on facebook? That is all the governing council can do. Create and education board on facebook. NONSENSE. Plz mark barata, if all you care about is generating traffic to your site, write reports about celebrity vibes, and other fun facts rather than decieve pple with fake news. Because you really annoy some of us who can reason when you post stuf like this.

      1. Please bro stop that nonsense talk. Everybody is doing what is in his or her capacity. Nobody is deceived. By your writing you really disencourage people in that struggle. I cannot hear those phrases anymore “people outside …”. Bla bla. I feed with my money many at home. I paid school fees for my niece and my inlaw. Repair works for my parents house. Paying citizen levy. Writing letters to international instituations and members of the parliament I stay. People in the diaspora do a lot. Likewise our people at home. The tasks are different but the goal is the same. Me I cannot change now that people at home are in danger or hunted. But I can make my surroundings aware about that. That is my task.

  9. There is no perfect revolution. The time for true evaluations and accountability audits will be at the end. For now, fix as you go and act, instead of wasting time asking questions. I continue to pay my citizenship levy without any concern. The people complaining are the majority of those who have never contributed a single kobo, dollar or Amba into the struggle and most of whom are agents of LRC or people with LRC blood, unlike those of us who are pure Amba breed.

  10. members of GC, Scacuf and all other groups towards this struggle must stop airing their negative concerns, feelings, bickering, next steps, accounting details, bitchiness etc on social media, they should b more positive, talk about how to empower the people to fight lrc’s intimidation in the regions, helping vulnerable people in the home front communities, information sharing about the success of the struggle, make sure vigilantes hold ghost towns and school boycotts, appoint honest coordinators to give out free food such as rice, to suffering people in the counties, rural villages, cities with funds from Diaspora via SCACUF,( this can be added in their drop menu) make sure the youths at home gets information, true picture on the struggle from the GC, they should also keeps themselves safe in groups, with regards to the fraud story and accounting details,Scacuf could send private communications via email to all those who pay their levy or use the different means of contributions rather than on social media to all those Tom,Dick and Harry who are enemies or do nothing to the struggle
