Anglophone journalist, Simon Ateba, would place Cameroun’s President, Paul Biya, under hot seat at the 2017 UN Summit build for September 2017. The fearless journalist who runs a news platform, www.simonateba.com, and currently based in the US, says he would be ‘tearing-apart’ Paul Biya inside the UN conference room, even as Anglophones protest outside the hall. He is one of several reporters to cover this year’s UN Summit billed for New York in September.
“Just completed our accreditation for the United Nations General Assembly next month in New York City. While Anglophone protesters will tackle Paul Biya, the President of Cameroun, outside, we will be the guys inside facing him with serious questions. I cannot wait,” Simon posted on his Facebook wall.
More than 150 world leaders are expected to attend the UN Sustainable Development Summit from September 25-27 at UN headquarters in New York to formally adopt an ambitious new sustainable development agenda. This momentous agenda will serve as the launch pad for action by the international community and by national governments to promote shared prosperity and well-being for all over the next 15 years.
Several Cameroonians from around the world have signed up to protest against the injustice currently meted on Anglophones in Cameroon. They are calling on the UN to probe into the Southern Cameroon marginalisation and restore the statehood of the once UN trust territory. Plans are on the way to place blockades in front of the hotel Paul Biya will be lodging while in New York.
Simon Ateba is renowned for several investigative reports carried out in Central and West Africa. His write-ups have animated a number of policy changes and international investigations.
Although not been on the front-line in the campaign for the restoration of Southern Cameroons, Simon Ateba has been carrying out underground fuels to bring justice to marginalised Anglophone Cameroonians.

This Simon Ateba guy is not one of us. He came to our protest in DC and was fighting with us accusing us for making Cameroon look bad and talked about the importance of all of us joining forces to fight Boko Haram in the north and for one united Cameroon. We actually thought he was one of the secret people sent by the Cameroun embassy to come film us. We were very scared of him in our presence that day. If I don’t warn you about him I will be guilty for exposing you to danger. Be warned. A word to a wise is sufficient.
Ateba leave us alone and use your time wisely to cover your president biya’s election next year in your loving country of La Republic du Cameroun.
I don’t know how this article made its way to this forum but I must warn you all that the handiwork of the LRC devils is about to take us by surprise. Simon Ateba, a Beti element works in Nigeria. He was arrested last year by the LRC forces in the north when he was covering the Boko Haram menace. Only 2 days later, a decree from Etoudi ordered for his immediate release. And this was happening after Ahmed Abbah the BBC journalist had already been sentenced for terrorism on the same account. How did he go scot free while Abba is still perishing in a military dungeon? This Beti element is clearly infiltrating our midst with the pretext of working with us but I guarantee you he will defend his Etoudi master that set him free with every active muscle on his body. Mr editor, be wise; wake up and educate your people. Ateba is a black leg agent of the evil LRC.
